Pier Sixty-Six, a historic landmark in Fort Lauderdale known for its appearances in popular TV shows like “Scarface,” “Miami Vice,” and “The Love Boat,” is set to reopen in 2024 after undergoing an extensive $300 million makeover. Led by the Tavistock Development Company, the project aims to transform Pier Sixty-Six into a premier destination for locals and tourists alike.
The renovation, which began in 2021, includes the construction of a new 17-story hotel tower featuring 300 guest rooms and suites. A marina with 500 boat slips will also be built, catering to boating enthusiasts. One of the renovation’s highlights is a state-of-the-art pool complex with three pools, a lazy river, and a thrilling water slide.
Interior renderings have also been unveiled for The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six, a collection of residential buildings within the expansive Pier Sixty-Six Marina Promenade. Developed by Tavistock Development Company and designed by GarciaStromberg, the residential phase consists of 93 units. It includes two 11-story condominium towers, each housing 31 units ranging from 2,600 to 2,700 square feet and two 4-story villa residential buildings with an additional 31 units ranging from 1,600 to 3,800 square feet. The residential development is scheduled to open in 2024.
The units at The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six will be delivered designer-ready, allowing owners to customize and install finishes according to their preferences. These luxurious units will feature high-end interior finishes in the kitchens and bathrooms, including Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, Italian cabinets, and quartz countertops.
The 11-story towers at The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six will offer condo units with private plunge pools, making them the first buildings in Fort Lauderdale to offer this exclusive amenity in each unit. Each condo will also have private elevator access, four corner units per floor, private terraces ranging in size from 917 to 980 square feet, and breathtaking direct water views. The villa buildings will feature semi-private elevator access and individually designed floor plans with unique architectural features, such as double-height living rooms and private garden retreats.
Residents of The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six will enjoy a range of luxurious amenities, including dedicated concierge services, full access to the resort’s amenities, a private restaurant and lounge, private cabanas on the multi-level marina front pool deck, a private fitness room and water grotto, and the option to rent dockage at Pier Sixty-Six Marina.
Situated conveniently near the beach, Galleria Mall, downtown Ft. Lauderdale/Las Olas Blvd., shops, restaurants, entertainment, cultural arts activities, marinas, sports venues, and various grocery stores like Fresh Market, Whole Foods, and Publix, The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six offers a prime location for residents to enjoy the best of Fort Lauderdale. The development is also easily accessible from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The construction team for this ambitious project includes Americaribe Moriarty Joint Venture (AMJV), a joint partnership between John Moriarty & Associates of Florida and Americaribe, LLC, serving as the general contractor. CBNA (Civil & Building North America Inc.) and Bouygues Bâtiment International are also involved in the construction. Titan Structural and GM&P Consulting and Glazing Contractors, Inc. handle the concrete and glazing aspects, respectively.
With its remarkable transformation and world-class amenities, Pier Sixty-Six is poised to reclaim its status as an iconic destination in Fort Lauderdale when it reopens in 2024.
